Alfred A. Apaka

ALFRED A. APAKA

Alfred Aiu Apaka was born in Hanalei, Kauai and moved to Honolulu at the age of 15. Virtually self-educated, he worked as a boiler maker, policeman, taxi driver, operated a trucking business on Molokai and served for many years in the Territorial House of Representatives.

Father of the great Alfred Apaka, he also performed as a singer. Dedicated to public service, he sang at many benefits and with his son. They recorded three songs together.
